Santa Cruz County had one gas station selling midgrade gas at the lowest price of $5.39 per gallon during the week ending Mar. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

The average reported price of midgrade gas across the county was $5.97 per gallon.

Of the 71 reported gas stations located within Santa Cruz County, 47 offered midgrade gas.

Across California, the average reported price for a gallon of midgrade gas rose to $5.98, compared to the week before.

U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
