Midgrade gas was sold at the lowest price of $3.73 per gallon at one gas station in Santa Cruz County during the week ending Jan. 31, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $4.49 per gallon for midgrade gas.
Santa Cruz County had 27 of 71 reported gas stations offering midgrade gas.
Statewide, midgrade gas averaged $4.41 per gallon for the week ending Jan. 31, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
