There was a single gas station in cities across Santa Cruz County selling midgrade gas at the lowest price of $5.09 per gallon in the week ending Mar. 30, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of midgrade gas in cities within Santa Cruz County was $5.29 per gallon.

Of the 14 gas stations in cities within Santa Cruz County, three offer midgrade gas.

The average price of midgrade gas in California was $5.13, compared to $5.04 the week before.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year's end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
